Favorite TV Show of 2011 - Friday Night Lights I was also late to this bandwagon, mainly because I thought it was entirely about football. Not a football fan nor do I really care for the sport but a good friend suggested it because they know how I like emotional shows. Well, damn I grew obsessed with this show really REALLY quickly. Everything about this show is just flawless and amazing and all sorts of other words that I currently can’t come up with to describe it. I really wish Matt Saracen’s existed in this world, or if they do there really needs to be MORE of them. The acting was incredibly raw and the writing, oh the writing was simply a breath of fresh air. The chemistry between Kyle and Connie rivals my other favorite TV parents - Sandy and Kirsten Cohen from The O.C. It also helps that Kyle/Coach Taylor is such a DILF. Even Minka Kelly who is kind of a terrible actress shined in this series, her romance with Riggins had to be my favorite. But my favorite is hands down, Zach Gilford. I don’t think anyone else could ever give Matt Saracen the kind of life that he did. I seriously fell in love with Matt AND Zach. He is such an incredible actor that really deserved more credit and recognition for his work on that show. I pretty much cried at all his dramatic scenes and even though I didn’t like Julie, I’m glad Matt got his happy ending with her. I could also go on and on about this show and even though it kind of broke my heart to see some of the original characters be phased out towards the show’s end, I also understood why and applaud the writers for choosing to be realistic over forcing ALL of them to stay in a small town for the sake of keeping their most popular characters on the show. I do like how from time to time some of them were mentioned in passing though. Pretty much cried all the time watching this show and absolutely loved every single tear. Definitely one of those shows that I can watch over and over again and still feel the way I did the first time. Honorable mentions: Pretty Little Liars (I admit this show isn’t groundbreaking but it’s light and fun and some times a bit shocking. I love the cast, all of them are such beautiful girls. Benzo and Shay’s real life friendship is also my favorite. I came into this show loving Lucy and I still do but Troian has become my favorite. She’s going to do amazing things with her acting career after PLL ends I can tell), Revenge (I’ve loved Emily Van Camp since Everwood but never really watched Brothers And Sisters. Her new show is really good and addicting with all these twists and turns.) And now I realize I really don’t watch a lot of TV anymore. The rest have been competitive reality shows, lol. Oh well.
