Favorite Album of 2011 - 21, Adele
It’s a little crazy how 21 has continued to sell months after its initial release but good for Adele for getting the proper recognition she deserves. You’d think by now everyone in the world has a copy but I guess not since she just keeps continuing to sell 100k every week. I know some people find it annoying whenever their favorite artist breaks out into mainstream and everybody acts like they’ve been a fan since the beginning. Frankly, I don’t care. She deserves all the fawning even if some people do it just because everyone else is doing it.
Anyways, I picked this album because from start to finish it’s pretty much flawless and if anything could reflect my 2011, it’s this album. To the guy who broke Adele’s heart - thank you. Thank you for giving her something so real that she was able to translate it into some beautiful and heartbreaking music. Even though Someone Like You sends me into an emotional comatose, One and Only has to be my favorite for so many reasons.
Homegirl really needs to take better care of those pipes though because I want to keep hearing music from her 10 years from now.
